“A fresh new sound that gets the crowd out of their seats is making its way around St. Joe. Bret Yager just returned to his hometown and is entertaining music lovers at local venues like Cafe Acoustic, THe Rendezvous and Magoons. It didn’t take Bret long to jump into the local scene, but performing is nothing new to him.

While away, Bret lent his talents to New York based Blestenation and Minneapolis’s Smokey Bogart. The unique beats and genuine, take it as it is, lyrics got crowds grooving at The Rock, Cabooze, The Fine Line, and 7th Street Entry. Playing guitar and singing for thousands while with Smokey Bogart, he was able to open up for bands Heiruspecs, Doomtree, I Self Devine, Eyedea, Rehab, and KC local, Tech N9ne. Bret also spent some time recording in the legendary Pachyderm Studios in Cannon Falls, MN, where bands like Soul Asylum, Live, and Nirvana have also recorded.

Aside from playing solo around town, Bret also fronts the rock band Burnstyles and helped produce and lay down guitar tracks for the local punk band BENKIRKLAND’s Self-Titled debut release.
